This episode is called, Officer Pain

Twisting your ankle. Scrapping your knee.
Stubbing your toe on the floor.
Cutting your finger. Burning your hand,
Banging your head on the door.

That’s when the alarm goes off,
Deep inside your brain.
Waking up the man in charge,
Whose name is Officer Pain.

Broke your arm, broke your leg,
From a slip or fall?
Officer Pain will be right there,
For he has seen it all.

He travels fast along your nerves,
As fast as they’ll allow.
His siren red and loudly blaring:
Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow.

It can be quite exhausting
To respond to each alarm.
To teach you what is dangerous
And keep you safe from harm.

But does he get a medal?
Or any kind of praise?
He’s always working, all the time.
There are no holidays.

But everyone dislikes him,
And treats him with disdain.
For no one ever really wants
A visit from Officer Pain.

But there’s no need to worry.
He doesn’t mind at all.
He hopes there will be many days
When there is no pain at all.

He’d take a real vacation
Watching TV on the couch
Until he’s needed once again
Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow, Ouch.
