We've all wished to be like someone else, but there are lots of someone elses. How boring! There's only one you in the whole wide world, and that's awesome.

This 2-minute story is perfect for young children who enjoy silly rhymes. Listen at bedtime, during car rides, or anytime a little laughter is needed.

Please subscribe to our weekly children's podcast for a new poem or story each week. If you're enjoying the podcast, please visit www.storiesbypeter.com where you'll find Peter's children's picture book, Lost Hallway: Where Do Lost Things Go and his latest children's chapter book Stitches in Time Travel. Both are available on Amazon. Stitches in Time Travel is also available as an audiobook or Amazon, Audible and iTunes.

This episode is called I Wish...

I wish that I was taller,
So I could touch the sky.

I wish that I was smaller,
And ride a butterfly.

I wish that I was quicker,
So I could run real fast.

I wish that I was slower,
To make the summer last.

I wish my hair was curlier,
So very thick and lush

I wish my hair was straighter.
It’d be easier to brush.

I wish that I was older,
So I’d live on my own

I wish that I’d stay young.
Then I’d never be alone.

I wish that I wished less about
What I could or couldn’t be.

But it doesn’t really matter.
I got my wish. I’m me.

I hope you enjoyed this episode. If you did, please check out my picture book, Lost Hallway, now available on Amazon. It’s a magical tale of a young boy who finds a world that contains all lost things. You can find it here: https://tinyurl.com/y5frqmqv
